About me

I’m a trainee librarian, and as part of my masters course, I’m taking part in a project to update the Leeds based charity Information for Mental Health’s (IMH) website. Their ethos is about supporting and informing people, and valuing the experience of service users, so the idea of Web 2.0 applications and user generated content seemed to be a pretty good match (new website is still pending currently…watch this space).
This led me to become interested in all kinds of issues relating to using Web 2.0 in a community or non-profit sense. If people can create content easily and cheaply and also get their users to generate [potentially more useful] content, this is great for organisations that are low on time and resources. More and more work seems to be being done in this area, so it’s a good time to be looking for inspiration from what others have been doing.
